Attacks with Fire Ball, Blizzard, and Cyclonic.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Chimera is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI. It can be fought in the forest near Thamasa.
Stats[]
Battle[]
It is quite a difficult opponent if encountered early on, as it casts various elemental spells like Aqua Breath, Snowstorm, Fireball, and Cyclonic, all of which, especially Cyclonic, can be dangerous. It is also immune to nearly every status and has a lot of HP for the point in the game he is encountered.
Strategy[]
If Strago is at Level 22, his Lore Stone will do heavy damage to the Chimera, as Stone does eight times as much damage when used against a target the same level as Strago. Otherwise, the party should use their strongest spells to defeat the Chimera, since it has no elemental weaknesses or resistances.

Etymology[]
chimera is a fire-breathing monster, one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is commonly represented with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail in Greek mythology. In modern usage, the term chimera is often taken to mean any sort of hybrid between two or more species.
