The Chimera is a boss from Final Fantasy II, and can appear in a group of one to four in its initial encounter. It reappears soon after its defeat as a random encounter.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Each Chimera is a powerful creature, with a robust physical attack and biting magical attack called Blaze 7, which hits the whole party.
Strategy[]
The difficulty of the fight with the Chimera depends largely on how many of them appear. If the player is having hard a time beating four of them, they can try reloading the game in hopes that fewer beasts appear. To survive the onslaught, the party should cast Blink and Shell as soon as the fight begins, then Protect soon after. The party is recommended to concentrate all efforts on one Chimera at a time to take them down faster.

Etymology[]
chimera is a fire-breathing monster, one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is commonly represented with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail in Greek mythology. In modern usage, the term chimera is often taken to mean any sort of hybrid between two or more species.
