Chapter 8, titled Chapter 8: Train Graveyard in the Event Viewer, is the eight chapter of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-. The chapter comprises of the assault on Midgar by the World Regenesis Organization in an attempt to stop Deepground
The chapter contains the gameplay stages Midgar Assault and Fight for the Central Complex, and is divided into six subchapters, with the final boss of the chapter being Rosso.
Story[]
The assault begins, with Shelke coordinating WRO troops descent while the fighting begins in earnest; Rosso intercepts Cloud, while Yuffie and Vincent deploy over the battlefield, with Azul taking down a WRO airship single-handedly and nearly damaging the Shera. Landing off target in the remains of the Sector 7 slums' train graveyard thanks to enemy fire, Vincent is guided to his destination by Shelke, who instructs him on how to reach Deepground through the upper plates. While heading towards them, Vincent escorts a WRO squad that also missed its landing point and rescues isolated WRO troops. During this time he talks to a WRO lieutenant who tells Vincent that she and her brother used to live in Midgar, with she and her brother regularly playing in the slums. After the death of their mother, her brother joined an anti-Shinra group but he died during the destruction of Sector 7, crushed by the plate.
After reuniting the scattered WRO troops with their commander, Vincent encounters a dead end and requests Shelke's guidance, eventually fighting against jetpack wearing DG Shrikes.
Vincent continues through the facilities, aiding WRO troops as he comes across them, and eventually encounters Rosso, fighting and defeating her. Rather than allowing Vincent to kill her, the injured Rosso cuts a piece of the building they are in and falls to her death.
