Allows you to restore your own HP and cure poison with Chakra. The amount restored is relative to damage received, and more is restored the lower your HP.
Description
Chakra materia is a Command Materia in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". Its ability, Chakra, heals the user's HP based on the damage they received, and cures the Poison debuff, with no MP cost. The ability heals greater amounts depending on the level of the Chakra materia.
Obtained[]
Tifa has a Chakra materia initially equipped when she joins. Later, another Chakra materia can be found in the Sector 5 slums church during "Budding Bodyguard". If missed, it can still be found during "In Search of Hope". Saving Kotch from Corneo's basement in Chapter 14 also scores a Chakra materia . In repeat playthroughs, these pick-ups will be Healing Materia instead.
In INTERmission, the player can find a Chakra materia in the Abandoned Talagger Factory near the bench and vending machine . The player needs to visit the factory as part of "The Happy Turtle Ad Campaign" discovery quest.
Stats[]
Level | AP required | Effect |
---|---|---|
1 | 0 | Restores 20% of damage taken |
2 | 50 | Restores 25% of damage taken |
3 | 100 | Restores 30% of damage taken |
4 | 300 | Restores 35% of damage taken |
5 | 900 | Restores 40% of damage taken |
Use[]
The Chakra ability is initially fairly weak and best used to cure the Poison debuff. Because the HP it heals is a small percentage of the damage taken, it can make minimal difference in fights compared to Healing Materia. Nonetheless, the ability to cure Poison at no cost makes it worthwhile.
As Chakra materia improves, it becomes a more useful ability, especially in hard mode when MP is scarce. Since it can heal for free, Chakra can provide durability in longer fights, especially when a character is low, making it a decent alternative to healing materia when trying to save MP.
Chakra is weaker than Pray, but is more ATB-efficient. Chakra's ability to heal Poison also gives it an edge in certain scenarios.
Etymology[]
Chakra, in Hindu metaphysical tradition and other belief systems, are centers of Prāṇa, life force, or vital energy. Chakra correspond to vital points in the physical body i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Texts and teachings present different numbers of chakra.
