Chakra is a Level 3 ability for the Monk class. It is a command ability that restores some HP with a spell of base 30 power, and removes poison and darkness. Chakra cannot be used on any other character aside from the caster themself.

Final Fantasy VI[]

Chakra (also called Mantra) is one of Sabin's Blitz techniques, which heals every party member bar Sabin himself for an amount equal to Sabin's max HP divided by the number of party members minus 1, and cures Darkness Darkness, Poison Poison, Silence, and Sap. Sabin learns Chakra at level 23. There's a glitch involving Chakra in the version prior to the Game Boy Advance release.

Final Fantasy VII Remake[]

Chakra is a Command Materia Command Materia. It allows the user to restore HP to themself based on the amount of HP they are currently missing (starting at 20% of their missing HP and increasing by 5% for each level of the materia, up to 40% at level 5), and also cures Poison Poison. Tifa joins the party with one equipped, and another can be found in the Sector 5 slums church.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth[]

Chakra returns as a Command Materia Command Materia; Tifa again begins the game with one equipped and it is available from shops since chapter 2. It works the same as in Remake; the amount healed is determined by the character's health when the ability is initiated, not when the cast goes off, meaning that using Chakra twice back-to-back from two ATB segments allows the party member to potentially get two 40% heals when they would get 40% and another for a lower 15–20% amount.

Final Fantasy IX[]

Amarant can use Chakra as a Flair skill at the cost of 4 MP to recover 20% of the target's maximum HP and MP. Its effect is doubled with the support ability Power Up. During Trance, Chakra recovers the HP and MP of all allies. It takes 30 AP to master and is learned from the Cat's Claws and Leather Plate.

Final Fantasy XI[]

Chakra is a Monk job ability learned at Level 35. The ability can be used once every 5 minutes. When activated, it will instantly heal a Monk for twice his vitality in HP. Chakra can also remove negative status ailments such as Poison, Paralysis, Blindness, and sometimes some other effects. Chakra can pretty reliably remove up to three of those effects, though Paralysis may effect the Monk's ability to actually use Chakra.

The Vitality score used in the healing formula can be modified based on gear, food, songs, etc.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings[]

Chakra is a skill learned by enemy Monks. It restores HP and returns any lowered stats to normal.

Final Fantasy Tactics[]

Etymology[]

Chakra, in Hindu metaphysical tradition and other belief systems, are centers of Prāṇa, life force, or vital energy. Chakra correspond to vital points in the physical body i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Texts and teachings present different numbers of chakra.

Mantra means a sacred utterance, numinous sound, or a syllable, word, phonemes, or group of words believed by some to have psychological and spiritual power. Mantra may or may not be syntactic or have literal meaning; the spiritual value of mantra comes when it is audible, visible, or present in thought.
