Chadley's Report is an Odd Job in Chapter 3, "Home Sweet Slum", in Final Fantasy VII Remake, taking place in the Sector 7 Slums. While Tifa Lockhart gives Cloud Strife a tour of the Sector 7 Slums, the two encounter Chadley, a Shinra Electric Power Company intern who requests help with his materia research. Cloud is initially uninterested, until Chadley promises to use his research to undermine Shinra's efforts.
Equip the Assess Materia on either Cloud or Tifa. Both have two materia slots, though Cloud benefits more from Magic Materia due to his attributes, meaning Tifa is a more natural choice to allow Cloud to keep magic materia. After equipping it, the goal is to use follow the Battle Intel found on the menu, with the first condition being to assess 2 enemy types.
Assessing enemy types can easily be done in "Rat Problem", where doomrat and wererats can be assessed; likewise, in "Nuisance in the Factory", the gorger and lesser drake can be assessed. After assessing two, talk to Chadley, and he will sell the Auto-Cure Materia for 100 gil. This materia will automatically use Cure up to three times per battle, provided the character has Healing Materia equipped, and provided the player is not controlling them. It can be useful if the player uses on character often and prefers the other focus on healing, but ultimately is less useful immediately when compared to other materia. However, for its low price, it is worth purchasing. The player will later recruit a party member who is more geared toward healing and support, who may be a good fit for the materia as well.
With the quest complete, more Battle Intel objectives become available, requiring the player to fight monsters in particular ways, exploiting their weaknesses. These will offer more materia from Chadley, making them worthwhile objectives to pursue.
