Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Locations in Final Fantasy XII". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

I'm gonna start editing some maps with descriptions of the various places. If someone makes a decent location article (more than 5-6 sentences), and I haven't made a map for it within a week, it will be because I just haven't noticed, so please notify me of the new location article if that happens. --Hecko X 13:50, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Can you make them so it doesn't look like you took a picture of your TV? Because that's what it looks like. Crazyswordsman 18:45, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
That's because it's a composite of several different pictures. Unfortunately, the background of the map-screen is a static radiant, while the actual map is dynamic, which basically means that you are gonna get som screwed up background colors. I can try to edit them out, but I wont guarantee a better result. I'll try to do it on the map of Giza in the Dry, just to test it. Edit: Comparing the result to the amount of extra work that has to be done, it's simply not worth it. If anyone else wants to do it, be my guest, just be sure not to remove the pathways. --Hecko X 19:02, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I'd help if a. I knew how to do it and b. I had the time. Maybe someone else knows better. I'd suggest not uploading them just yet, and instead making your own diagrams from scratch (copy-paste the outlines and fill them in). Crazyswordsman 19:26, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Making my own diagrams? That would take forever. Beside, to me, the maps have a good feel to them. They look like actual maps, which have been folded, which the reader is now looking at (with the different shades being due to the sun being somewhat in the horisont, making the top of the map shadow part of itself). But then again, that's just me. --Hecko X 19:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
It's just you. I think they're blurry and hard to read. Crazyswordsman 19:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
It's easy to critique, harder to create ^_^ And I have no problem with blurring, even without putting my glasses on, until I blow it up to about double/tripple size. So I think either your monitor needs cleaning or you should consider consulting an optometrist. But in any case, if you can do better, be my guest, I'll look forward to seeing your work ^_^ --Hecko X 19:52, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Problem: It's exam week in college. Crazyswordsman 21:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
No worries, I can wait 5 days ^_^ --Hecko X 21:21, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Also, this may be easier, but do you think you could up the resolution on those images a bit? They're really low res! Crazyswordsman 21:48, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
It's the highest possible resolution for my TV-Tuner card ^_^ And even if I could, it wouldn't matter. You complained, which means you must be able to do better (else it would just have been plain rude), so this "project" is now yours to handle, not mine ^_^ I can't wait to see what you come up with ^_^ がんばって!! --Hecko X 22:04, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do. Crazyswordsman 22:10, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Lots of locationsEdit

Wow, Renmiri has been busy adding in stubs for all the locations. However, some have names that I wasn't going to use. For example, I was going to call the article on The Pharos "The Pharos", not "The Pharos at Ridorana", since that's that its location name in-game, even though some people refer to it as the "Pharos at Ridorana". That's me just being annoying I guess though. I'll add more content to them up one-by-one as I get the time. Diablocon 10:47, 25 January 2007(UTC)
