- Caius's goal of erasing memories of the dead to start anew is the same as Bhunivelze's, another antagonist from Lightning Saga. While Caius wants memory purge to be absolved of his sins and achieve personal salvation, Bhunivelze sees memories of the dead as a hindrance as it allows humanity to have emotions, something he cannot read and understand, so its removal will help him control humanity in his own new world.
- Caius joins Weiss in the latter's Force Mode. This alludes to the Omega and Chaos plot of Dirge of Cerberus, since Weiss has the power of Omega Weapon and Caius has the power of Chaos Bahamut. Caius also has immortality, while Weiss has been revived once.
- Caius has similarities with Nero, Weiss's brother, further strengthening their bond. Both can control a corrupted essence, both have a relation to Chaos, and both have sought to save a close one, albeit in opposite ways, as Caius sought to stop Yeul's curse of constant reincarnation while Nero sought to revive Weiss.
