Etymology[edit | edit source]
The use of Byblos in the Final Fantasy series derives from the Final Fantasy V boss that was fought in a library. Byblos syllabary, also known as the Pseudo-hieroglyphic script, Proto-Byblian, Proto-Byblic, or Byblic, is an undeciphered writing system known from ten inscriptions found in Byblos.
