Etymology[]
The Butterfly Edge is a type of Chinese dāo blade. They are the length of a person's forearm, usually wielded in pairs, and are designed to be concealed in loose sleeves and boots. Their short length allows greater ease of movement in close-quarters fighting, and they sometimes bear hooked crossguards meant to catch an opponent's weapon.
