Bulette is an enemy in Final Fantasy XV fought in the southern areas of Duscae, and during the Hammer the Cannibals hunt and the Ace of Carapace sidequest for the weapon shop in Lestallum.
A triad of Lv.18 bulettes fights in Duscae Deathmatch and All-Star Monster Mayhem in Totomostro under the team name Spiky Shields.
Bestiary

- Carnivorous creature with a sturdy shell on its back. In spite of its sluggish appearance, it charges forward at impressive speeds when it curls up into a ball. The lines that line its shell function not only as a defense mechanism, but as a means of increasing torque when rolling.

- Bulette sighted rolling around southern Duscae alongside a variant species. If its combative impulses are not sated for an extended period of time, this beast may lash out at its companions. Herds split by such strife grow even more aggressive, wreaking havoc on civilian homes and thusly earning the ire of the Hunters.

Strategy
Throwing ice elemancy on groups of them is effective in damaging the whole herd at once. Ignis's Enhancement Technique can also bestow the ice element onto Noctis's weapons. Attacking bulettes from behind stays away from their damage-dealing side and deals blindside-strikes and—sometimes—blindside-links.
Etymology
The bulette is a heavily scaled carnivorous monster from Dungeons & Dragons. It is a huge ravenous creature that burrows through the earth and attacks unsuspecting victims from below.
