The Bulette (バレッテ, Barette?, lit. Bulette), also known as the Baretta, R.ANKYLO, or RED ANKYLO, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in the original Final Fantasy. It is a heavily armored quadrupedal creature.

The Baretta, also known as R.ANKYLO or RED ANKYLO, appears as an enemy encountered in the Yahnikurm Desert and Cardian Islands regions. It appears in groups of 1 to 4 and is moderately powerful, but should not pose a threat to a well-trained party.
Final Fantasy V[]
The Bulette, also known as Baretta, appears as an enemy encountered on the world map around the Pyramid of Moore. It uses physical attacks, but is not a difficult foe to defeat.
Final Fantasy XV[]
The Bulette appears as an enemy encountered southern areas of Duscae, and as well as during the Hammer the Cannibals hunt and the Ace of Carapace sidequest. It appears in herds, and is a good target for elemancy.
Final Fantasy Adventure[]
The Bulette appears as an enemy encountered in the Crystal Desert. It has a chance of dropping Stamina.

Etymology[]
The bulette is a heavily scaled carnivorous monster from Dungeons & Dragons. It is a huge ravenous creature that burrows through the earth and attacks unsuspecting victims from below.
