Description

The Breaker is an Expert Job in Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, available after unlocking the corresponding nodes in the Samurai, Dragoon, and Berserker Job Trees. In addition, it is available to Sophia after clearing the "Azure Memories: The Rebel" side mission.

Breaker is a fully offensive job that specializes in destroying enemies with overwhelming strength and soul bursts. This job serves as the penultimate Strength job as it combines the physical damage output of Samurai, Berserker, and Dragoon and the unique soul bursting abilities of each to form the Breaker's playstyle. The Breaker is bolstered by its passives that increase break damage, decrease MP cost of abilities, and increase physical damage.

Job Action[]

Its job action is "Zantetsuken", a returning ability that conjures a giant blade that can be charged by 3 levels and slices multiple enemies in front of the player, soul bursting them on impact. Provided the player unlocks its mastery ability, this attack can even debilitate enemies by lowering their defenses. However, Zantetsuken does leave the player open and is a costly job action, so it is encouraged to use abilities such as the Red Mage's Quick Charge, Reinforce, and Lancet to decrease charge time and replenish MP easier.

Equipment[]

The Breaker makes use of greatswords, axes, katanas, lances, and guns. Each weapon benefits greatly from the Breaker's surplus of Strength and charged attack passives for a large damage output. The combo effects for each weapon focuses on increasing the attack speed and finishing enemies with soul bursts for more MP.

Stats[]

The Breaker receives the largest stat bonus in Strength, increasing physical damage and break damage dealt.

Job Affinity bonuses[]

Most weapons and items of clothing have a certain percentage of Job Affinity for a certain job. By combining them together and raising this percentage, the character may not only gain extra EXP to that Job, but also unlock abilities and bonuses to their stats. Memories of the Starscourged	600%	A successful soul shield increases your Strength. This effect can stack up to twenty times. Also enhances the effects of Breaker's Wisdom.
Breaker's Essence	800%	Enhances the effects of Breaker's Wisdom, and also boosts stats based on your affinity.

Etymology[]

[view · edit · purge]Zantetsuken (斬鉄剣?) is Japanese for "iron-cutting/slashing iron sword". It normally refers to a blade formed out of exotic materials rumored to be able to cut through steel and/or iron. The term was often associated with blades created by the feudal swordsmith known as Kobayashi Yasuhiro.
