Final Fantasy Wiki

Bravera is a positive status effect in Final Fantasy XIII that raises the power of physical attacks by 80%, affecting abilities such as a Commando's Attack and a Ravager's elemental "-strikes", as well as Lightning's, Snow's, Sazh's, and Fang's full ATB skills. It is mutually exclusive with Debrave and is the upgrade to Bravery, superseding it so one cannot have both buffs active at the same time. Bravera's magic counterpart is Faithra.

Bravera only lasts a brief time, 30 seconds when applied by Fang and Vanille with the Synergist spell of the same name, and is perfect to bestow right before using a full ATB ability that calculates damage with the user's Strength stat, or right before staggering the enemy.

Bravery and Bravera may make it easier to score five stars battle rating as it makes the party stronger without affecting target time. The enemy can also be debuffed with Deprotect to deal even more physical damage (though this does not affect full ATB skills' damage).

Bravera only exists as a buff in Final Fantasy XIII and did not return for the sequels; the base Bravery status has instead been made stronger in them.

Abilities[]

Game Element Type Effect
Bravera Synergist ability for Fang and Vanille Bestows Bravera to the target for 30 seconds (base duration).

Status duration can be lengthened with high level Synergist role level, having many Synergists in the same paradigm, high Magic stat (base stat + any conditional boons such as from Faith), and target's high chain level. Bravera is unaffected by Boon but is affected by Positive Effect.

Removal[]

Bravera can be removed with Dispel and any abilities that inflict Debrave. Only enemies have abilities that inflict Debrave. Bravera can, conversely, be used to remove Debrave.
