Description

The Boomerang is a weapon for Yuffie Kisaragi in Episode INTERmission in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. It teaches the Brumal Form ability, which allows Yuffie to perform a dodge, even in mid-air, and regenerates most of the ATB spent if an attack is successfully dodged. The ability is learned faster if used to evade an enemy's onslaught.

The Boomerang provides a higher Magic Attack Magic Attack bonus than its Attack Power Attack Power bonus, however, its attack power is not significantly lower than Yuffie's other weapons. Many of its unlocked abilities improve Yuffie's offensive spellcasting ability, as well as improve her durability on a precision guard.

Boomerang is in a treasure pot in the Sector 7 Slums' clinic, first visited in "Esteemed Avalanche Colleagues" during chapter 1, "Wutai's Finest". If the player did not pick it up there, it is also sold in the vending machine in the pillar maintenance break rook right before the Gigantipede boss.

Use[]

Boomerang improves Yuffie's on spellcasting and ninjutsu by having her deal more magical and elemental damage, saving on MP, and allowing her weapon to stay thrown for longer, during which she can use ninjutsu. Its weapon abilities improve her precision guard, allowing her to gain Barrier Barrier and Manaward Manaward for perfectly guarding. Its AP Up boosts AP yield for both Yuffie and Sonon, and thus is a good ability to prioritize unlocking.

A fully upgraded Boomerang is a great weapon for hard mode, as it helps Yuffie regenerate MP, one of the only methods available to recovering MP; Yuffie will recover 1 MP every 10 seconds, and even more when she takes damage, while the MP costs of her spells are also lowered. It also has Reprieve, which resuscitates Yuffie once from KO. A fully upgraded Boomerang is thus a great weapon against Nero in hard mode.

Etymology[]

A boomerang is a thrown tool, typically constructed as a flat aerofoil, designed to spin about an axis perpendicular to the direction of its flight. A returning boomerang is designed to return to the thrower. Boomerangs have been historically used for hunting, as well as a sport and entertainment.
