The player can fend against bomb-type enemies' attacks with Spirit-boosting gear and elemental defenses. The player should try to kill them before they explode. Swords and daggers work well, especially daggers since they attack fast, and Ignis has a Technique that imbues Noctis's weapon with the element his foe is weak against. With character swap, Ignis himself can also wield Ice-elemental daggers. Blizzard magic and Ignis's Libra Elementia can be used to damage whole groups of bombs at once.
Bombs will slowly approach Regis and begin their self-destruction sequence when they are close to him. Their detonation can be interrupted with any attack. Regis can also use his Shield Bash (/) to shove a Bomb into the closest enemy and deal significant damage.
