Ice magic damage/one enemy
—Description

Blizzaga is an attack magic spell in Final Fantasy VIII. It is the highest level Ice-elemental spell above Blizzard and Blizzara, allowing it to be junctioned to absorb or deal Ice damage in battle, or cast as a spell to deal major damage.

## ObtainedEdit

Blizzaga is initially hard to come by, and is easiest to obtain by refining from certain items using the Guardian Force Shiva's I Mag-RF from certain items. At higher levels, it replaces Blizzara as a common spell drawn from many high-level enemies. It can be acquired early by playing Triple Triad and amassing Snow Lion cards that modify into North Winds that then further refine into Blizzaga.

Additionally, the Guardian Force Alexander gives the High Mag-RF ability to refine five Blizzara spells to one Blizzaga.

## UseEdit

Blizzaga has a spell power of 35 when cast, meaning its damage is calculated as:

$Damage = AttackerMag + 35$[1]
$Damage = Damage * (265 - TargetSpr) / 4$
$Damage = Damage * Power / 256$

It is cast as a spell in the Magic command, Selphie's Slot Limit Break, or Rinoa's Angel Wing if she has it in her inventory.

Casting Blizzaga in battle increases compatibility with Shiva by 2.4, but lowers compatibility with Ifrit by 1.2.

Blizzaga is initially a useful spell to junction to boost Strength or HP, especially if acquired early by refining, but can be outclassed by greater spells in this regard. However, its main use is to junction to Elem-Atk-J and Elem-Def-J, as it can significantly increase damage against enemies weak to Ice, or absorb Ice damage respectively.

It is used against the player party by the following enemies: Edea, Glacial Eye, Imp, Jelleye, Sphinxaur, and the final boss's first form. It can be reflected.
