Battle

A unique Thunder-elemental enemy, Blitz may charge itself up with Thunder magic, healing itself and strengthening its attacks. If the player attacks Blitz when it is charged, they will receive additional Thunder-elemental damage; an advantage if the player is equipped with Elem-Def-J that absorbs the Thunder element. Scanning Blitz after it charges will show [Charging...] in the bottom left corner.

Blitz is sought after for its rare Power Generators, as one can refine it into 20 Pulse Ammo, the strongest ammo in the game that is also needed to make Squall's ultimate weapon, the Lion Heart. Power Generator also teaches Quistis a new Blue Magic spell, the Ray-Bomb. The item can be rarely obtained by mugging a LV30+ Blitz. Its level can be raised with LV Up from Tonberry if it does not naturally spawn at high enough level.

Triple Triad

Main article: Blitz (Final Fantasy VIII card)

Blitz is a lightning-elemental Level 4 Monster Card in Triple Triad used for playing the minigame and for turning into Dynamo Stone with Quezacotl's Card Mod. As Dynamo Stones become Thundaga spells, Blitz cards are sought after in the early game before the Tier 3 spells are widely available.
