Stun enemies by smacking them with a blade's dull side.
Final Fantasy V description
Blade Bash (みねうち or 峰打ち, Mineuchi?) also known as Mineuchi, Pommel, Sslap, SwdSlap, and Swordslap is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is a command ability that attacks a target and inflicts some sort of status ailment that immobilizes the target. It is associated with the Samurai.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy V[]
Mineuchi is a command ability learned by the Samurai. It was called SwdSlap in the older translation and is a Level 1 job ability. It damages an opponent equal to a normal attack and is meant to inflict Paralyze, but this never occurs due to a bug, so it acts as a normal attack with the benefit of not removing Confuse, Control, or Sleep from the target. This is fixed in the mobile and Steam releases.
Final Fantasy XI[]
Blade Bash is a Samurai Merit ability. It causes Stun and may inflict Plague.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Mineuchi is a PvP-exclusive ability available to Samurai. It deals fractional damage to players and inflicts Stun, ignoring the protections of Guard. Deals normal, non-fractional damage against non-player combatants or player-controlled machina.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]
Blade Bash is an ability used by Parivirs. It deals weak damage and can Immobilize the target. It requires a bladed weapon to use, and is learned from an Ashura.
Final Fantasy Dimensions[]
The Paladin can use Pommel, learned at job Level 3. It deals damage and stuns the target.
