Black mage job command. Enables the use of attack magicks in battle.
Black Magicks,[1] also known as Black Magick[2] or Black Magic,[3] is an action ability skillset in Final Fantasy Tactics. It is the skillset of the black mage job and contains offensive magicks.
In the PlayStation and The Ivalice Chronicles versions, the black mage has a chance of chanting when casting a spell, but in the War of the Lions enhanced port, these were omitted.
After being learned in the Black Magicks skillset, the spells can also be used in the Arithmetician's Arithmeticks command.
Mechanics[]
The amount of damage inflicted by Black Magicks is as follows:
The chance of inflicting a status is as follows:
Firaja, Blizzaja, and Thundaja have a 30% chance of randomly being learned in battle by a black mage who has not learned the spell yet and is damaged but not KO'd by the spell, or absorbed and heals at least 1 HP. Nullifying the damage does not count.

Etymology[]
Black magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for evil and selfish purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, black magic is the malicious counterpart of benevolent white magic.
Magick is an Early Modern English spelling for magic. Magick, in the context of Aleister Crowley's Thelema, is a term used to differentiate the occult from stage magic and is defined as "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will", including both "mundane" acts of will as well as ritual magic.
