The Black Flan, also known as the Pudding, is an enemy from Final Fantasy III. It is found in the sewers of Amur and has the highest Strength of all of the monsters in the area. They can also be found in the forest area on the Surface World. However, it is still a relatively easy enemy to defeat, and physical attacks work well in defeating it.

Etymology Edit

Flan is an open pastry or sponge cake containing a sweet or savory filling. A typical flan of this sort is round, with shortcrust pastry, usually coated with sweet syrup. It is similar to a custard tart or a South African melktert.

It is also called "Pudding." Pudding is a kind of food that can be either a dessert or a savory dish. The word pudding is believed to come from the French boudin, originally from the Latin botellus, meaning "small sausage", referring to encased meats used in medieval European puddings.
