The Black Dragon (ブラックドラゴン, Burakkudoragon? or 黒いドラゴン, Kuroi Doragon?, lit. Black Dragon), also known as Black Drgn, BlakDrgn, or Sei-Ryu, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy Legend III. The Black Dragon doesn't have any particular elemental affinities unlike other colored dragons.

The Black Dragon appears as an enemy exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary releases, encountered in Lifespring Grotto and Whisperwind Cove. It possesses the highest HP and second highest attack of all of the dragon-types in the game and is extremely resistant to magic attacks outside of Holy and Flare. In addition to strong regular attacks, the Black Dragon is capable of casting the spell Kill. Upon defeat, it may drop the Lunar Curtain.
Final Fantasy II[]

The Black Dragon appears as a boss exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary, encountered in Arubboth and the Arcane Labyrinth. The Black Dragon mainly attacks with powerful physical attacks that may inflict Poison as well as the powerful Flare XVI spell. It possesses high defenses and has no weaknesses. It can drop the valuable Dragon Armor, Dragon Gloves, Black Garb, and Holy Lance.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Black Dragon, also known as the BlakDrgn or Black Drgn, appears as an enemy encountered in the World of Ruin in the deserts on the southern continent, in the desert on the Solitary Island, and in the Serpent Trench. It is a relatively strong enemy when first encountered, hitting with hard attacks, such as Sandstorm, and inflicting Zombie with Bone Powder. As it is an undead, it is weak to
Holy-elemental attacks in addition to
Fire-elemental attacks.
Final Fantasy XI[]

The Black Dragon appears as a dragon boss encountered in Balga's Dais during the missions Journey Abroad and The Emissary. It is fought alongside the ahriman Searcher and defeating the pair grants the title Black Dragon Slayer. The encounter can only be accessed if the player visits Windurst second while acting as an emissary of Bastok or San d'Oria; otherwise, the player will instead face the identical Dark Dragon or Dread Dragon in their respective battlefields.
Final Fantasy Legend III[]

The Sei-Ryu appears as an earth/water-elemental monster-type enemy and potential transformation for party members. It appears in the final dungeon, Xagor's Castle, and is one of the strongest enemies/transformations in the game.

Black dragons are the most vile-tempered and cruel and breathe acid.
