Battle

Bite Bugs fly around Balamb in groups of one to three and at higher levels can inflict Poison with their Needle attack and Berserk and Darkness with their Fart attack.

If Squall encounters one with Quistis in the meadow or forest areas of Balamb, Quistis will prompt Squall to use to activate the trigger, same for the Renzokuken.

Bite Bugs provide useful magic early in the game, such as Scan and Fire.

Strategy

Bite Bugs are easy to overwhelm with physical attacks. The only time they could pose a danger is when Laguna is the only playable party member in Winhill should he fall prey to their status attacks and become blinded and berserked.
