Description

Bioga is a magic spell in Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is the highest-level spell granted by the Poison Materia. Bioga inflicts a large amount of non-elemental damage and the Poison status to one enemy, and can never miss. As a tier 3 spell it is powerful and can interrupt/knock enemies back.

Where 8 is used rather than 4 while the target is Pressured, and "Target's Magic Modifier" is the respective target's stagger rate modifier.

Use

Bioga is useful as a non-elemental tier 3 spell against enemies that may resist elements but not magical damage itself. The Poison ailment it also inflicts helps deal damage over time. When coupled with Magnify Materia, the player can poison and damage/interrupt numerous enemies with a single ATB expenditure. The spell's delayed burst makes it unreliable as a means of interruption, but this can sometimes mean it can explode at an opportune moment, preventing an dangerous attack from some of the strongest enemies if applied early.

When paired with Synergy Materia, the synergizing character can safely use the spell against any opponent as Bio spells deal non-elemental damage; the only time this pairing is useless is when the enemy resists magic damage altogether. Synergy materia is especially useful in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade where the spells cast with it are "free".
