Say good-bye to your souls... Bio3!
Upon casting in Final Fantasy Tactics
Bioga (バイオガ, Baioga?), also known as Bio 3, Poisonga and Bio III, is a spell that deals damage and inflicts negative status on the target in the Final Fantasy series. It is the strongest form of Bio.
Overview[]
Magick that inflicts damage with foul spirits.
Description from Final Fantasy Tactics.
Bioga is an advance spell and the second upgraded form of Bio. It often unleashes a large collection of biohazardous sludge onto targets, inflicting status effects that deplete an enemy's lifeforce over a period of time. Bioga is not frequently associated with any class of magic, but it is sometimes grouped in the Black Magic category.
Like its previous tiers, Bioga's element varies depending on the title. It inflicts non-elemental damage in most appearances, but also occasionally deals poison-elemental damage. In Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Bioga is instead a high tier dark-elemental spell. Despite the different elemental affinities, Bioga has the additional effect of inflicting the Poison status onto targets, serving as a player's primary method of inflicting the ailment. The spell also has the ability to be group-casted on multiple targets, with later entries having the spell serve as an area of effect upgrade.
Bioga first appeared in Final Fantasy VII and would become a recurring spell in entries part of its subseries. It was largely absent in titles following its original appearance, but would reemerge as a recurring Saboteur spell in the Final Fantasy XIII subseries, albeit under the localized name of Poisonga. Despite sharing similar English names in the latter titles, it should not be confused with the recurring spell of the same name from Final Fantasy XI. Like Biora, Bioga is often associated with the enemy Cúchulainn, the Impure from Final Fantasy Tactics, being used by the creature in its many boss appearances in mobile titles.
