Poison element attack
Description
Bio3 is an attack magic spell in Final Fantasy VII. It is granted by the Poison Materia at level three, and is the strongest Poison spell above Bio and Bio2. Bio3 also has 72% of inflicting the Poison status effect. Bio3 can also be cast via the M-Tentacles item.

where "Level" is the caster's current level and "Magical Attack" is their Magic atk stat. This is effectively 4.25x the base magic damage.

Bio3 can be used by characters with the Poison Materia at level 3. The spell deals a considerable amount of Poison-elemental damage, and also has a 72% chance of inflicting the Poison status. The Poison status, if inflicted, deals physical Poison-elemental damage equivalent to 1/32 of the target's max HP every 2.5 units of time, ignoring Defense. Bio3 has a very high MP cost, but against large enemies that are weak to Poison-elemental damage, it can be effective.
The main problem with Bio3 is its MP cost, and the fact that the larger enemies, which it is most useful against, are often immune to the Poison status. This can make it less economical to use in most cases, but it is still best against enemies weak to Poison. Bio3 can be amplified by pairing the Poison Materia with Support Materia. MP Turbo or Quadra Magic can amplify its already high damage against single targets, and Magic Counter allows it to be used without using up a character's turn. Pairing it with MP Absorb also mitigates the high MP cost, and HP Absorb can grant greater endurance to the caster by healing them, taking advantage of its damage. All allows the spell to clear groups of enemies, though using Mega All will have the same effect.
Bio3 is not used by any enemies.
