Bevelle Temple is a location in Final Fantasy X. Its architecture uses sophisticated machina technology despite machina being officially banned.

In Final Fantasy X-2, it becomes the headquarters of New Yevon. If the Gullwings side with the Youth League, they are stopped at the door and cannot enter the headquarters until the main story quest sends them there. If they side with New Yevon, they can freely enter.

Bevelle Temple is where the aeon, Bahamut's fayth, a young boy, resides.

Final Fantasy X[]

CoT Bevelle

The Cloister of Trials in Bevelle Temple.

After Yuna jumps off the Bevelle Palace, she enters the temple to obtain Bahamut. After Yuna obtains him, she and her guardians are arrested.

Later, the party returns to the temple to explain to Bahamut's fayth their plan to defeat Sin. Bahamut's fayth is doubtful that Jecht can hear the "Hymn of the Fayth" since he's been Sin for so long. Tidus wants to do it anyway, since there's still a chance. Tidus explains that they will fight Yu Yevon whose defeat will eradicate Sin. Bahamut's fayth explains that Yu Yevon was a summoner a thousand years ago, and that he will simply merge with the Final Aeon to become the new Sin. The aeons will help Yuna fight Yu Yevon, but Bahamut's fayth tells Tidus that he will vanish once they destroy Yu Yevon, as Tidus is a resident of Dream Zanarkand. After the fayth leaves, Yuna knows that Tidus is hiding something. Though Tidus reassures her that he's not hiding anything, Yuna thinks he's a bad liar.

Outside, Shelinda tells the party that Yo Mika is nowhere to be found. Rikku tells Shelinda that she can help them with the hymn: she needs to tell as many people as she can. When the ship in the sky begins singing the "Hymn of the Fayth," everyone must sing along. Though Shelinda initially does not understand it, she decides to help.

Final Fantasy X-2[]

Bevelle temple

Inside New Yevon Headquarters.

The Gullwings learn from the Leblanc Syndicate of Vegnagun being hidden beneath Bevelle. They enter the trials area which can now be fully explored without the mechanisms in operation, though it has become filled with fiends. The two groups arrive at the hole in the Chamber of the Fayth and they jump to it, in which they discover the Bevelle Underground, a large underground complex filled with machina remaining from the Machina War.

Temple trials[]

Consisting of a labyrinth of powered walkways and mystic seals housed in a mechanical framework, the cloister leads to the temple's fayth—the boy who serves as Tidus's "guide" in Spira. This is the only Cloister of Trials in which it is necessary to use a Destruction Sphere to complete. The temple cannot be returned to once completed.

Behind the scenes[]

Bevelle-Chamber-of-the-Fayth

Symbols in the Chamber of the Fayth in Bevelle.

In Bahamut's Chamber of the Fayth in Final Fantasy X, the main symbol on the back of the wall is the symbol for Valefor and Besaid Temple, rather than the one for Bevelle and Bahamut. As it means "nothing", it may be intentional as both Valefor and Bahamut are non-elemental summons. The symbol on Bahamut's seal means "light", but there are no Holy-elemental summons in Final Fantasy X. The other glyphs that surround the "nothing" symbol are the "six symbols" found on the vestments of Yevon officials, and the crosses for Yu Yevon and Sin.
