Story[edit | edit source]
Cloud and Tifa find Betty on the Sector 7 slums playground during Cloud's endeavor to put his name out as a mercenary-for-hire. Betty needs help finding her lost friends, and upon further probing it turns out she means her cats. Cloud is not thrilled about looking for cats, but Betty assures they are friendly and tame.
Cloud looks for the cats in the places where Betty says they usually hang out—junction leading to the station, outside the Seventh Heaven bar, and in the neighborhood near to the beginner's hall (a woman alerts Cloud to a cat that is stuck)-but every time Cloud approaches the white cats, they run off. Cloud and Tifa return to Betty and relay the bad news. She is at first crestfallen, but soon the three cats come running and Betty says that they were spooked by a scary man (Cloud).
Prior to the destruction of Sector 7, Aerith finds a lone Betty and carries her to a secret passages that leads to safety, and with Marle's guidance, Betty escapes to Sector 6 with her father. The two reach Wall Market, where Betty works to cheer up fellow survivors through the use of a nearby jukebox's music.
