Berserk is a status in Final Fantasy X that only enemies' abilities can inflict, which causes the affect party member to attack the enemies uncontrollably, dealing increased damage. Berserk is considered a status ailment, as it can only be inflicted by enemies and is listed under "Immunities" when scanning. Some enemies use the Berserk ability to increase the strength of their own physical attacks. The status increases all damage by 50%, not just physical, but there is only one case where this can be seen: when a Guado Guardian casts Berserk on an Evil Eye, it increases the damage of their magical Gaze attack. Provoke and Threaten will also remove the Berserk status from an enemy. Party members affected by Berserk turn a red hue.

The player does not have access to abilities that inflict Berserk. However, when battling Black Element or escaping from Macalania Temple, the player can use Reflect on an enemy, so Berserk will bounce to the party.
