That's the gist of it.
Benzo
Benzo is an Al Bhed interpreter in Final Fantasy X-2. He is the only person who understands the language of the cacti, and acts as an interpreter between Al Bhed and the Cactuars living in Bikanel Desert that have founded the Cactuar Nation.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Benzo shares a generic "Al Bhed child" model from Final Fantasy X, wearing a yellow bodysuit with stitching at the front and a padded square hood. He wears goggles, gloves and shoes.
Personality[]
Benzo is similar to Shinra as an Al Bhed child prodigy, proud of his unique skill that makes adults rely on him, though he plays down his abilities and acts humble. His catchphrase is to say "that's the gist of it" after a lengthy translation.
Story[]
Benzo is recruited by Nhadala, who needs his unique ability to talk to the Cactuars living in the Bikanel Desert. He talks to their leader, Marnela, who warns that a fearsome fiend had awoken within the sands and wants to exact revenge upon the Cactuars of the Cactuar Nation.
Marnela, through Benzo, asks the Gullwings to help find the Ten Gatekeepers who can summon the Great Haboob, a magical barrier that can stop the fiends around Bikanel from rampaging on Cactuar Nation. After the Gullwings find the nine gatekeepers, he follows them to the Cactuar Hollow, and after the Gullwings find the tenth gatekeeper, he witnesses the gatekeepers repel the fiends. However, Angra Mainyu attacks the campsite instead and, after the Gullwings slay it, Benzo stays with the Al Bhed camp near the Cactuar Nation.
