Behemoths are powerful and dangerous enemies that use a simple physical attack and Heave, a stronger physical attack, as well as Thundara. It will not use Heave against aeons, and uses a physical attack with reduced accuracy when Provoked. It is immune or highly resistant to means of slowing its physical damage output, including 80% resistance to Power Break. It has no elemental weaknesses, but has next to no Magic Defense or Defense, making an Overkill easier. Kimahri can learn the Mighty Guard Ronso Rage from a Behemoth.

Good strategies include Haste on party members and damage reduction measures, including Guard or Sentinel, and summoning an aeon to take the damage.

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
