Behemoth is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Behemoth is the forty-sixth card in the inventory and the second Level 5 card.

Being a Level 5 card, the card values on the Behemoth are not particularly strong, but its value placements may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Obtain[]

The Behemoth monster has a 3.5% chance to drop the card. Using the Card command on a Behemoth has a 93.7% chance to procure a Behemoth card when it succeeds.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 5 cards has a chance of using Behemoth in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match. Examples of players who use Level 5 cards are the man operating the Balamb Garden the entrance barriers, Trepies, Ma Dincht, CC King, and the familiar face by the lift and Martine in Fishermans Horizon.

Card Mod[]

Ten Behemoth cards refine into a Barrier with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. Barrier is used to teach Quistis her Mighty Guard Blue Magic spell, and thus would be beneficial to get early, however, it takes a long time to procure ten Behemoth cards as players who use Level 5 cards, also use various other levels, meaning there is only a small chance of Behemoth in particular appearing in a game. Other uses for Barrier is refining it into Shell spells, or even an Aegis Amulet, though doing that would require 50 Barriers.
