Final Fantasy Wiki

The Behemoth is an enemy in Final Fantasy V Advance and the now discontinued 2013 Matrix Software versions of Final Fantasy V, found in the Sealed Temple.

Stats[]

  1. Control needed

Battle[]

Behemoth will not attack the party without first being attacked. If Behemoth is low on HP, it will cast Meteor. The capture of a Behemoth is required to complete the Sealed Cave. This can be difficult due to the Behemoth's power and high HP total.

Strategy[]

Inflicting berserk or silence prevents Behemoth's Meteor (though inflicting Berserk does not work in the now defunct mobile/Steam versions, and inflicting Silence can take more than one attempt unless done through Spellblade).

Behemoth from Final Fantasy V appears as a Triple Triad card.

Etymology[]

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in the biblical Book of Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
