Early life[edit | edit source]
House Haillenarte had suffered rough times since the Calamity. Baurendouin's third child, Chlodebaimt, fell during the sacking of the Steel Vigil by Svara. His youngest son Francel was nearly the latest of his house to be framed for heresy, and only spared due to timely intervention of the Adventurer and Lord Haurchefant.
Count Baurendouin prominently features in the Machinist storyline. He is rather disdainful that Stephanivien chose his work in Skysteel Manufactory rather than becoming a knight, and dismissive of the idea of machinists. When Skyfire Locks comes under attack by Svara, he requests Stephanivien do his duty as part of House Haillenarte to defend them. Stephanivien entrusts the task to his machinists, including the Warrior of Light, who greatly aid House Haillenarte knights in driving away the dragon. This wins the respect of the Count, having seen the machinists' value in battle.
Once the machinists win in the tourney between the High Houses at Camp Dragonhead, Baurendouin puts his faith in his son and machinistry. During the quest "A Joye-ful Reunion," he and his knights participate in an offensive against the Dravanians at the Black Iron Bridge, aided by the Warrior of Light and Joye.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Baurendouin is an ally NPC during the solo instance duty of "A Joye-ful Reunion", where he fights alongside the player with several knights. Like most knights, he fights with a sword and shield.
