A Lv.19 basilisk fights in Cleigne Crossroads and All-Star Monster Mayhem in Totomostro under the team name Stunning Hens.
Bestiary[edit | edit source]
- An adult chickatrice found around the Vesperpool. Though its wings have atrophied (leaving this fowl flightless), its feathers contain poison that it uses to defend itself from potential predators.
- Size: 24.41 ft. Weight: 2.51 t
- A basilisk targeted by hunters hoping to suppress its abnormally strong tendency toward violence and aggression. Some scientists speculate this uncharacteristic behavior may stem from anxiety over mating season and the unusual presence of a kingatrice in the Vesperpool.
- Size: 24.54 ft. Weight: 2.56 t
Hunt[edit | edit source]
|Breeding Season: Rooster Extermination||Meldacio Hunter HQ||9||Kingatrice x1, Basilisk x3||Risorath Basin (Daytime)||70||30,320 gil, Mega Phoenix||★★★★★|
Stats[edit | edit source]
Battle[edit | edit source]
Basilisks are weak to polearms, shields and fire. They are colossal birds that jump onto the party and flap their wings. They peck at those in front of them (can be block/parried), and can jump and turn in the air to slam opponents with their long tail plumage (can be block/parried). Their attacks knock the player back easily and forcefully. They are susceptible to Poison themselves, but also spit substance that inflicts the party.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Fire-elemental elemancy is good and can engulf entire groups. Ignis's Enhancement bestows Noctis's weapon with the fire element, and the player can also character-swap to Ignis and use his fire daggers.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Basilisk is a fictional beast that appeared in medieval bestiaries, it is said that a single gaze to their eyes would kill or petrify the observer. It was supposed to appear when a chicken's egg was hatched by a snake or a frog (hence their reptilian appearance).The
