Petriglare turns its enemies into stone.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Basilisk, formerly called Geckorex, is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI. It can be found on the overworld in the area around Jidoor and Narshe in the World of Ruin.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Its special attack, Stone Gaze, can Petrify a party member, but otherwise it is an unremarkable enemy. As with most enemies in the wild in the World of Ruin, it is weak to
Ice, so Blizzara and Blizzaga spells are very effective. The Basilisk drops Tortoise Shields, part of the Imp equipment set.
The Basilisk can be encountered on the World Map anywhere on the Jidoor or Narshe continents, but only on the grassy areas. It always appears in pairs, alongside a single Leap Frog.
