Allusions[]

  • Basch is Celes's Force Mode partner. Both are generals of their respective empires who fell from grace when they allegedly betrayed their homelands, resulting in both being imprisoned and tortured before being rescued by their parties at the time. Coincidentally, both were rescued by thieves in the vicinity of their cells (Vaan and Balthier for Basch, Locke for Celes). Both are also defensive characters ("tanks") when deployed.
