The Bandersnatch (バンダースナッチ, Bandāsunacchi?) is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy V. It most commonly appears as a canine creature.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy V[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered in the Torna Canal and Castle Tycoon regions, as well as in the Fork Tower. It typically appears in groups of three, and makes an excellent source of early ABP.
Final Fantasy VII[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered in the Icicle Area and Great Glacier. It only uses physical attacks and is not a threat, although it can revive other Bandersnatches with its Howling ability; no extra EXP or gil is earned from killing revived Bandersnatches.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered during the missions Mobile Units, The Enemy's Stronghold, and Stop the Assailants. Unlike the wild Bandersnatch from Final Fantasy VII, this Bandersnatch is an attack hound employed by Wutai.
Final Fantasy IX[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered in Alexandria Castle and the Alexandria Plateau. Zorn and Thorn summon a never-ending wave of Bandersnatches to stop the party from escaping the Castle with Garnet.
Final Fantasy X[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered in Mt. Gagazet. Its attacks can cause Sleep or Silence. It has high evasion, making Tidus and Wakka the best suited to dispatch it.
Final Fantasy XI[]

The Bandersnatch appears as a hound enemy encountered in the Gusgen Mines.
Final Fantasy XIII[]

The Bandersnatch appears as a boss encountered alongside Jabberwocky in Orphan's Cradle, and appears as a regular enemy afterward. It is immune to all physical damage and resists magic damage, but can be afflicted with Saboteur debuffs.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Bandersnatch appears as a family of beastkin introduced in Heavensward. The common Bandersnatch is encountered as an enemy in the Dravanian Forelands. It is notable for being able to cast Fire II, and is based on the original Final Fantasy V Bandersnatch.
Final Fantasy XV[]

The Bandersnatch appears as a boss encountered in Malmalam Thicket and as a regular enemy in the Weaverwilds region of Leide. It can also be encountered during the Malmalam Mirage hunt and a timed quest in the Vesperpool. It is a large enemy with high HP.
Final Fantasy Dimensions[]

The Bandersnatch appears as an enemy encountered near Aulë.

Etymology[]
Bandersnatch is a creature mentioned twice by the late author Lewis Carroll; in the poem "Jabberwocky" in the Alice novel Through The Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, and also in the stand-alone poem The Hunting of the Snark (An Agony in 8 Fits).
