Azure Behemoth is an enemy from Final Fantasy XIII-2 encountered through the downloadable content battle "A Study in Elegant Death". Nabaat summons it along Nightblade Pumas and PSICOM Wardens.

An Azure Behemoth is also seen before the fight with the Chaos Bahamut in Academia 500 AF, but it's quickly defeated by Hope Estheim.

It cannot be captured for Paradigm Pack without the use of third party tools.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Azure Behemoth can use Sunder for large damage. By defeating the Azure Behemoth, it will become damage against Nabaat overall. If the Azure Behemoths aren't defeated before Nabaat uses Sacrifice Pawn, they'll be sacrificed to power up Sadistic Surge. Being an enemy encountered as a minor part of the major boss, being Nabaat, the Azure Behemoth is easy to defeat, despite being constantly summoned.

Strategy[]

The party can use Relentless Assault (COM/RAV/RAV) with Noel as the Commando, and if possible, Lightning as the other Ravager.

The party should batter it until Azure Behemoth's Stagger gauge is either at stagger point or stabilized. In the case the player would like to stabilize it, switching to Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV) brings the gauge to its stagger point quickly, and switching to Cerberus (COM/COM/COM) subdues the Behemoth. Should Azure Behemoth use Sunder, the party can switch to Combat Clinic (SEN/MED/MED) to heal up, preferably with a Flanitor, as it has Hyper Rescue that heals all allies.

Etymology[]

Azure is a shade of blue.

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. In addition to mythological creatures, it is likened to dinosaurs, especially sauropods, as well as elephants, hippos, rhinos, and bison. Metaphorically, the term behemoth denotes "an extremely large or powerful entity".
