Reflect activates automatically in battle.
Description
Auto-Reflect is a support ability that gives a permanent Reflect buff in battle, bouncing most spells targeted at the character to the enemy party.
Obtained[]
Auto-Reflect is learned by the Guardian Force Carbuncle for 250 AP after Counter is mastered. Carbuncle is drawn from Iguions at the Deling City parade, or Krysta in the final dungeon.
Auto-Reflect is taught to any GF with the Glow Curtain item, made from 100 Dragon Skins with Eden's GFAbl Med-RF ability. Dragon Skins are obtained from Blue Dragons.
Mechanics[]
Auto-Reflect gives the user permanent Reflect status that cannot be dispelled and remains in effect even if the character was KO'd and revived. There is no visual indication that the character has Reflect in effect until they are struck by a magic attack/healing, showing a light barrier that bounces the spell to the enemy party. Not every spell can be reflected.
Use[]
Auto-Reflect is a good situational ability to have equipped to avoid damage from enemies' spells. However, the player can easily get Reflect by summoning Carbuncle, though they then need to use one command ability slot for the GF command. The player needs to be careful if they have Auto-Reflect as not to accidentally reflect healing and support spells onto enemies; support spells from Selphie's Slot would likewise be reflected.
To protect from magic damage, Auto-Shell is more broadly useful.
