Template:IncompleteTable Template:FFIV:TAY multi Enemies Asura is a boss in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. Asura is fought twice in the game.

Strategy

When fought under the control of the Mysterious Girl, Asura is immune to damage and status ailments. She will cycle through three attacks - casting Curaga on the Mysterious Girl, casting Shell on her, and using a physical attack. The player should focus on attacking the Mysterious Girl with magic, as Asura's presence means she is in the back row and Golbez's attacks do less damage. Asura vanishes when the Mysterious Girl is defeated.

When fought on the True Moon, the player ideally should have at least have one White Mage in the party and they must have access to Reflect. At the beginning of the battle, the player should cast Reflect as fast as they can on Asura, to prevent her from casting Curaga on herself. The main focus of this battle is to keep on striking Asura with physical attacks and heal when the party when necessary. If you have Golbez in your party, have him taunt so when you attack Asura, she will only hit Golbez. Have someone cast Blink on him, so he will dodge the attacks. Recast the spell once it wears off. Since Blink only needs 8 MP to cast it isn't wasting much.

If the player has already defeated Leviathan, he will appear after she has lost enough health and cast Tidal Wave on her, but it won't actually inflict any real damage. After the scene with Leviathan, the player should continue using physical attacks and Bands until she is defeated. If Rydia is in the party, Asura will be regained as a summon for her. If not, Asura is killed and cannot be obtained. This also makes it impossible for Rydia to regain Bahamut.
