King of the dark elves, privy to the whereabouts of the crystals sought by Jack and his allies. Handsome, but with an air of pestilence about him. He seems to know all that Jack and the others do not about themselves, and although he cooperates with them in freeing the crystals, he operates in pursuit of his own objective.
Description
Astos is a playable character representing Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. He is automatically recruited in Act 4, Ch.3, Pt. 1, "Void of Bias".

Astos is a tall ashen-skinned elf with dark gray hair and piercing red eyes. He wears a horned circlet on his head, a dark gray tunic with a pointed hood and a collar decorated with spearheads, black trousers and black knee-high boots. He has a necklace made of thorns and decorated with purple rose.

Astos's entire kit revolves around his ability to store his BRV within a mass of dark matter. Its capacity is dependent upon how he is equipped; the more BRV built and stored within the mass, the higher the overall damage output. Attacking while Dark Matter is 0 nulls all HP attacks regardless of whether Astos receives BRV from other party skills or active buffs.

- Astos pairs with Kefka for his FR ability references to how he transforms into Ultima Weapon Origin and the place where Jack's party fought him alludes to Floating Continent from Final Fantasy VI, where the party foughts Ultima Weapon and confronts Kefka at the end of World of Balance arc.
- Astos also pairs up with Selh'teus. Astos was the first person to encounter Selh'teus and both are crystals, though only Selh'teus is considered one for the plot, while Astos's position as a dark crystal is only mentioned by his companions.
