"Assault" plays when the guardians arrive at the temple of Bevelle to try and stop Yuna from marrying Seymour Guado. Later, it plays during the boss battles against Left Fin, Right Fin, and Sin and Sinspawn Genais. It is the 14th track on the third disc.
For Final Fantasy X HD Remaster, "Assault" was remastered by Hamauzu using real instruments. The track got more 'crisis' tune.
"Assault" appears as part of Final Fantasy X Music Pack downloadable content. Once acquired, it is automatically selected for battles against Tidus, Yuna, or Jecht, or for battles that take place in Dream's End.
"Assault" appears as a battle music both as an arrangement for Dissidia and as the original PS2 version.

- One of the tracks on Final Fantasy XIII: Original Soundtrack PLUS is called "M181 Assault 2 Prototype". Hamauzu said that it was modeled on the structure of "Assault" from Final Fantasy X and titled "Assault 2". It was later turned into "Fang's Theme".
