Relm: I couldn't miss the chance to practice my drawing!
This article is in need of a few pictures. Perhaps you can help by uploading a picture of Asmodeus's attacks.

The demon Asmodeus is most at home in the desert sands. Perhaps he is vulnerable to water, like other desert dwellers…?

Scholar in Guera

Asmodeus is a boss in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. He is fought in the Quicksand Castle and later in the Star Chamber.

Battle[]

The party will begin with whatever HP and AP they had at the end of the fight with King Guera. Asmodeus's physical attacks are Earth-elemental and have a chance to poison the target. His most dangerous attack is Sidewinder, which deals Earth-elemental damage and randomly inflicts Confuse, Paralyze, Silence, Poison, and Curse. He can also cast Silence, Petrify, and Death. Asmodeus also uses Moonlight Curse, which results in negative Psyched Up. He is weak to Water.

Asmodeus's six snake heads do not attack, but they must all be destroyed before Asmodeus takes damage. Asmodeus is capable of dealing a lot of damage in a short amount of time with his multiple spells, and it can be difficult to recover if the party healer is affected by status ailments.

Asmodeus can be killed before killing all the snakes because they both share the same health. This only applies to Asmodeus's 4 Heroes of Light version, since in Bravely Default, the snakes cannot be killed.

Strategy[]

An Elementalist is advisable. The party should equip Rock Shields and, if available, the Soil and Flame Capes. Accessories to nullify status ailments are also helpful for dealing with Asmodeus's Sidewinder attack. The party's damage dealers should be equipped with abilities that target Asmodeus's weakness to Water.

If the player has Lux, it should be cast at the start of the battle, and Mysterio should be renewed whenever it wears off.

Magic Might or Waterga are useful for destroying Asmodeus's snake heads, and the Elementalist's Amplify and Augment make this more efficient. Asmodeus can be Silenced to slow down his magic attacks.

Etymology[]

Asmodeus is a king of demons known from the deutero-canonical Book of Tobit, in which he is the primary antagonist. The demon is also mentioned in some Talmudic legends. He was supposed by some Renaissance Christians to be the King of the Nine Hells. Asmodeus is referred to as one of the seven princes of Hell, and in Binsfeld's classification of demons, each prince represents one of the seven deadly sins. Asmodeus is the demon of lust.
