Final Fantasy Wiki

Knight job command. Enables the use of "Rend" skills that destroy equipment or reduce attributes.

Description

Arts of War is the action ability for the knight in Final Fantasy Tactics.

The Dual Wield ability (acquired using the ninja job) allows the player to take two chances at "rending" equipment and statistics. For example, players can rend an enemy's speed twice in one turn. If the target of Arts of War has First Strike, First Strike may activate before the Art of War can be executed.

In the PlayStation version, the equipment-destroying abilities are useless against enemies that cannot equip armor or weapons (i.e. "monsters"). In following versions, they will do damage the same as a normal attack to targets that have no equipment to rend.
