The Giant Warrior, also known as the RedGiant or Armored Fiend, appears as an enemy encountered in the Lunar Subterrane and Lair of the Father, as well as within the Lunar Ruins bonus dungeon exclusive to the Advance and Complete Collection releases. It gives a large sum of EXP upon defeat. In 2D versions, it will use Beam as a counter against magic, inflicting fractional damage equal to one tenth of the target's maximum HP. In the 3D versions, may drop an extremely rare Black Tail, which can be traded for the Onion Armor at the Adamant Isle Grotto.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
The Armored Fiend returns as an enemy encountered in the Subterrane and Depths. It will counterattack any magic attack with Self-Destruct, necessitating the use of physical attacks to defeat it.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Armored Fiend appears as a form of Garlean magitek fielded in the latter days of the empire. Seemingly based off of their magitek colossi, they trade their swords for an arm cannon.
