Revives a character at full HP.

Description

Arise is a magic spell in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". It is the higher-level spell provided by Revival Materia Revival Materia, fully restoring a character after reviving them from incapacitation.

Use[]

Arise costs 14 MP to cast, and fully heals an incapacitated character, making it more effective than Phoenix Down and Raise Raise as the character will not need to be healed back to full once revived. This makes it very ATB-efficient, as well as potentially MP-efficient. Arise also does not depend on the user's Magic Magic attribute, though equipping the user with a weapon that reduces MP costs for healing spells can be helpful.

The main drawback of Arise is that it requires a large amount of AP on revival materia to be unlocked, and will not be available for most of the game. Once unlocked, however, it normally replaces Raise and Phoenix Down entirely, and can rescue characters from dire situations.

Etymology[]

In the Japanese version, the spell name is intended to apply the prefix "A" to indicate the higher tier of Raise (as opposed to apply suffix "ra" or "ga" for the similar purpose) instead of actually romanizing the English word "Arise". Arise is the only example of the affix "A" that still makes its appearance constantly.
