The Archaeosaur (アルケオダイノス, Arukeodainosu?, lit. Archeodinos or アルケオザウルス, Arukeosaurusu?, lit. Archeosaurus), also known as the Archeosaur or T-Rexaur, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy V. It most frequently appears as a theropod dinosaur.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy V[]
The Archeosaur appears as an undead enemy encountered in the Pyramid of Moore. It uses Claw as its critical attack. Archeosaur also relies on its two Breath attacks, Poison Breath and Zombie Breath, to damage all targets, and possibly inflict poison or zombie status randomly. Archeosaur also has the Blue Magic spell Level 3 Flare, but the player has to Control it and cast Reflect on Archeosaur to learn it. Level 5 Death restores it to full health.
Final Fantasy VIII[]
The T-Rexaur appears an enemy encountered in the Balamb Garden training center, the forests on Balamb island, and on the Island Closest to Hell. If Squall encounters one with Quistis either during the Fire Cavern mission, or during their meeting in the training center after the inauguration ball, Quistis will prompt the player to flee the battle. During the Balamb Garden Revolt T-Rexaurs appear as random encounters around the facility, and in a fixed encounter at the Training Center if the player chooses to defend the kids there from the Garden Faculty.
Final Fantasy XII[]
The Archaeosaur appears as a dragon/tyrant-type enemy encountered on the Phon Coast. It has Fumarole as a rare steal.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Archaeosaur appears as an enemy encountered in the Churning Mists as a regular enemy. It can also be encountered in the FATEs Supper Time and The Nuts.
Pictlogica Final Fantasy[]
