Aranea is a playable character in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited during the event Commodore of the Skies. She was revealed as the second Global-first character during the global 2nd Anniversary community stream on Twitch.

Profile[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Aranea wears a suit of red and black leather armor that has a "scaly" appearance, a long white cape with a red symbol and wears red-brown boots with unique high heels. In battles, Aranea dons a black helmet with horn structures.

Her alternate costume is her "Women's Snowsuit" during Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto, which consists of leather trousers and a long fur-lined black coat and a muted red scarf with matching fingerless gloves. She has no headwear with her snowsuit and wears long heeled boots.

Story[edit | edit source]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Aranea appears to have been summoned by the god Spiritus for one purpose alone: to sustain the world of the gods through combat. Though she questions his exact motives, he gives her a single directive, which is that she will be free to do as she wishes, so long as she fights in the world. Aranea is unfazed, but Gilgamesh, taking interest in her magitek lance, duels with Aranea and opens a Torsion for her.

Having been dropped into Mog's entourage, Aranea immediately seizes upon Noctis and begins to spar with him as the rest watch her aerial acrobatics in awe.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Aranea uses her Overclock framed buff to help deliver crushing Ranged damage to foes whilst delaying their turns, but excessively long execution sequences abound, neutralizing her advantage in battle.
