Abysteel transformed by feeding on creatures possessing powerful magicks. Hunted in the Sochen Cave Palace.

Requirements

In order to find Anubys the player must have spoken to the "Huntmaster" in Phon Coast and defeated Thalassinon, which will trigger the start of the Rare Game quest. Anubys then appears in the secret room that does not appear in the map, called Mirror of the Soul, where the player may obtain the Iga Blade or the Koga Blade. The player has to complete the waterfall puzzle, and once the player reaches the room, Anubys will drop down. If the blade has already been obtained earlier in the game, the puzzle need not be re-completed. Enter the secret room through the door via Mirror of Soul. Exit via the door into Falls of Time. Turn around and re-enter the secret room. Anubys will spawn.

Etymology

Anubys is likely derived from the name Anubis, the Egyptian god of death.
